EMI announce interest in Nokias "Comes with Music" Package

EMI has revealed its been in talks with Nokia about their upcoming "Comes with Music" package.


"We want to be part of it. I believe strongly that when it launches we will be there, with a full offering," Wemppa Koivumaki, head of EMI Finland, told a news conference.

Nokia Comes With Music is a revolutionary program that enables people to buy a Nokia device with a year of unlimited access to millions of tracks from a range of great artists - past, present and future. Once the year is complete, customers can keep all their music without having to worry about it disappearing when their subscription is over.


Nokia have already signed up Universal to the service and want to obtain as many of the leading record label as possible. Nokia is due to start selling mobiles bundled with the service in the second half of this year.

Rumour has it that Apple is in similar talks for an offering for its iPhone.
