Nokia Announces Two New CDMA Phones

Nokia further strengthened its presence in the CDMA market today, announcing two new phones tailored specifically for North American audiences. Welcome the Nokia 3606 and Nokia 1606 -- devices that combine sleek exterior design with feature friendliness. With the addition of these two devices, Nokia now has CDMA handsets supporting upcoming AWS (1700/2100 MHz) networks.

Designed for seekers of both style and simplicity, these CDMA phones offer modern mobile functionality in an easy-to-use package.
In use, the Nokia 3606 comes to life -- quite literally -- with its "hidden til lit" display effect. Optimized for music lovers, the phone's dedicated music keys provide instant access to up to 4,000* songs (using an optional 8GB microSD card), without having to even flip it open. In addition to stereo Bluetooth compatibility, the Nokia 3606 has a 1.3 megapixel camera with a LED flash.

The Nokia 1606 is the ideal companion for simplicity enthusiasts looking for a stylish device. Its fold-design, easy-access buttons and bright display bring an ease to communications, along with the added enjoyment of handsfree conversations, thanks to its built-in speakerphone.

The Nokia 1606 doubles as a flashlight too -- which will work even if the device is powered off.

The Nokia 3606 and Nokia 1606 are expected to be available in third quarter of 2008.
